The Ask

Build an internal platform for TCP employees to help them manage tasks between different departments and across the organization, helping to focus needs and allocate resources more effectively.

The Work

phone mock_2.png

We wanted the platform to be simple, functional, and on-brand. The product also needed to work effectively across all departments, from corporate executives down to store associates, all having different needs and levels of knowledge, but combined to be cohesive workflow.

The Process:

Concept

& Features

After some internal research was performed, we used the whiteboard to work out what features would need to be built for the platform.

User Persona

This product has 3 key user types, the corporate user, the manager, and the sales associate. Together they have one goal, but independently, they all have varying needs.

Site Maps

Site maps for both mobile and desktop were needed for each of the different user types.

Work Flows

We designed simple task flows, ensuring that we were designing sequentially and thoroughly.

User Flows

We then designed more complex user flows to show more clearly specific tasks for each user group.

Wireframes

To minimize the chances of functionality missteps, we made sure that both the mobile and desktop wires were as comprehensive as possible.

Design System

We used the system we were designing for their e-commerce website and built from there, adding what was needed for internal needs, and removing what wasn't. The look is similar but more simplistic in the use of color pallet and the removal of imagery, but the core components were kept the same across the two platforms.
